The Aquatic Habitat Specialist will implement a project to develop a Restoration Roadmap to improve aquatic connectivity for American Shad and river herring across the four states of the Delaware River Basin. They will work closely with other staff to research and gather conservation planning data and partner insights to identify priorities and create relevant reports. This is a 2-year grant funded position.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Primary responsibilities: gathering, analyzing, and synthesizing data, engaging partners and stakeholders, convening meetings and workshops, conducting outreach and building relationships with dam and/or barrier owners, and report writing.

Specifically, the aquatic habitat specialist will
1.) synthesize aquatic connectivity datasets and reports.
2). Conduct outreach to key stakeholders and partners and coordinate with key project partners.
3.) convene a series of meetings and workshops to elicit expert opinion on priority barriers for American Shad and River Herring in the Delaware River Basin
4.) Conduct an in-depth analysis of selected barriers and produce a final project report.
