The Cary Institute of Ecosystem Studies and NYSDEC are looking to hire a post-doctoral data scientist.  

As part of an ongoing multi-partner effort to reconceptualize and re-design fisheries and ecosystem monitoring in the Hudson River, we invite applications for a position at the intersection of fisheries management and data science. The successful applicant will analyze large existing long-term data sets and new experimental results, in close collaboration with colleagues from the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC), Cornell University, the Cary Institute of Ecosystem Studies, Stony Brook University, and other organizations. These analyses will support decisions by NYSDEC, the Mid-Atlantic and New England Fishery Management Councils, the Atlantic States Marine Fisheries Commission, and others about future monitoring and management of the Hudson River ecosystem and its diverse diadromous and freshwater fisheries.
