The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation is hiring two entry-level Fish Culturist 1 positions at the Catskill State Fish Hatchery. These positions are being filled provisionally, meaning you do not need to be on a state Civil Service list to be hired. At some point in the future the test will be offered and provisional employees will need to take the test at that time and have a reachable score. We have an excellent track record retaining provisional employees when new tests are given. The Catskill Hatchery is located in a beautiful part of the Catskills near Livingston Manor and Roscoe, near the Willowemoc Creek and other famous trout streams. The hatchery specializes in rearing brown trout, and is one of two brown trout broodstock facilities in the state.
