Women in Fisheries – Mentoring Program

Brief description of program:
This is a pilot program offered for the first time in 2022 by the NY AFS Women in Fisheries Subcommittee. Our mission is to inspire and empower women and people from underrepresented genders to succeed in professional fisheries careers. We strive to foster an encouraging environment for our members to advance their professional development goals. We recognize that mentorship and peer networking are vital factors to career success. Therefore, a core component of our work is to enhance these opportunities within our chapter of the American Fisheries Society.
