Summary

This position is part of the R5-Lower Great Lakes F and W Conservation Office. As a Biological Science Technician in Alabama, NY

TEMPORARY NTE 6 months: This is a full-time temporary position not-to-exceed 6 months, excluding overtime in a service year. The service year is the calendar year that begins on the date of the employee’s initial appointment in the agency.

Responsibilities

Duties may include:
Under the supervision of the Project Leader and/or staff biologist carries out daily activities of a fishery management program.
Assists with preparation, maintenance, and use of field equipment as necessary to accomplish routine fishery management investigation.
Assists with fish collection, stocking, population determination, fish migration studies, species identification and office
administration.
Participates in fishery management surveys and assists in management plan preparation for federal program areas within the geographic responsibilities of the station.
Assists with the preparation and presentation of programs at informal meetings to explain fishery management program

Travel Required:  50% or less – You may be expected to travel for this position.
