The AFS Climate Ambassador Program

The AFS Climate Ambassador Program

The Climate Ambassador Program is a new endeavor from the American Fisheries Society that will build a network of skilled climate science communicators to explore ways to show how our changing climate is impacting fish, fisheries, and their habitats.

The selected Climate Ambassador Team will first receive training from skilled science communicators on how to educate broader audiences about climate science.  The Team will then apply their training to the development of resources and outreach materials for them to use in educating target audiences in fisheries.

Becoming a Climate Ambassador is an exciting opportunity for fisheries professionals (at all stages of their careers) to expand their communication and leadership skills, collaborate with peers, build constituent networks, and educate broader audiences about climate science.

The commitment to becoming a Climate Ambassador is for two years, requiring participation in coursework and workshops, as well as time for monthly meetings and projects.

A link to the Application Form, as well as details on the program, can be found on the Climate Ambassador Program webpagehttps://climate.fisheries.org/climate-ambassadors-program/.

Application due date is midnight on November 13th, 2020.
