Contributed by Scott George, Posted 10/31/22: Natural reproduction of lake trout was recently documented in Lake Erie for the first time since the species was extirpated in the 1960s. Researchers from the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation and other organizations published a journal article earlier this month documenting this important milestone for lake trout restoration.
